JSMO/ASCO Young Oncologist Workshop 2018 (Tokyo: February 8–10, 2018)

【Learning objectives】

As part of educational activities designed to assist members in becoming board-certified medical oncologists, JSMO, in collaboration with ASCO, is launching a new educational workshop for the next generation of leaders in clinical research.

The main learning objectives are:
 • To learn about state-of-the-art clinical studies on cancer medicine, particularly topics
  and methodologies for research projects regarding individualized/precision medicine
 • To brush up on research protocols for biomarker exploration and/or precision medicine
  that participants are planning
 • To enhance English presentation skills to meet world standards
e protocol concepts submitted as part of the application for the workshop, and the top eight high-scoring participants will have a chance to orally present their concepts and obtain feedback from faculty members and other participants. The other participants will also be able to present their concepts as posters.
Six faculty members from ASCO and two from JSMO will be invited to the workshop. Several facilitators from JSMO will support the participants.

- Oncologists who are aged 39 or younger as of February 10, 2018
- Practitioners of medical oncology
- Those seeking to become leaders in clinical research
- Those who can communicate in English (all sessions will be conducted in English)
- JSMO members
- Those who can obtain a recommendation from one JSMO Board of Councilors

【Result Notification】
Around the end of December 2017
The eight highest-scoring participants will be asked to make an oral presentation on his/her proposed protocol concepts. The other participants will be asked to present a poster describing their proposal.
* Your poster will be displayed and presented during a lunch time on February 8th or 9th (just one day).
